Tools and Transformation

Tools & Transformation

To be truly happy and healthy people must learn to live in radically new ways.

Learn More

Despite advances in science, medicine, and technology, we live in difficult and stressful times. Financial troubles, social ills, and environmental problems present formidable obstacles to our physical and mental health, leading to lifestyle and stress-related illness. Presently, our health care system is limited in its ability to provide preventive therapy.

Many people can benefit from additional help to augment their health, resilience, and creativity. But we need to do more than simply learn about well-being; we must work concretely on transforming -- sometimes radically -- the way we live. To do this, we need knowledge, tools, and personal insights.

To this end, we have developed educational resources, like the Know Yourself DVD series, that provide people with the essential tools they need to transform their lives. Professionals, institutions, and the general public have successfully used the Know Yourself DVD series to help people transform their thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors, and ultimately adopt healthier lifestyles.

Change is hard; we all know it. Today, perhaps more than any other time in human history, there is a growing need for helping professionals who can assist others in their quest to change their lifestyles and learn about health and well-being. Existing pressures in the medical system make it difficult to create a group of professionals who can help others work on lifestyle change.

We offer professional development opportunities to prepare people to address these burgeoning needs. We host short seminars and workshops that give professionals a taste of our integrative approach and to equip them with tools. We also offer a Well-Being Coach Certification Program. This one-of-a-kind, 2-year program that provides helping professionals with an integrative coaching methodology and an approach to living in well-being.

EMPOWER

EMPOWER At-Risk Populations

We seek to EMPOWER everyone to work on well-being.

Learn More

Our EMPOWER program trains social workers, counselors, and other allied health professionals in coaching and counseling methods that help empower at-risk populations with ways to realize a sustainable life of positive mental health and happiness. We offer our Well-being Coach Certification Course, and other professional training opportunities to staff at organizations that serve at-risk populations, such as homeless shelters, teen suicide prevention organizations, and substance abuse and addiction centers. We also work with staff and participants of these organizations to tailor these methods to their populations, gain hand-on practical coaching experience under the supervision of our trained instructions, and design studies and obtain outcomes data on the benefits of our coaching and counseling methods.

As a part of this program, we collaborate with other organizations--like the St. Patrick Center and the CHADS coalition--to equip their staff and clients with our resources thereby expanding our outreach in the communities they serve. Our staff members also provide direct service to clients when the need arises.

Our partnership with the St. Patrick Center showcases this program in action. You can find out more in our 2013 annual report.

Happy, Healthy Kids

Happy, Healthy Kids (parents, and teachers...)

Early childhood development has far-reaching effects on human well-being.

Learn More

A community will never be stronger than the education it provides to children. Thus it is essential to give students resources from an early age to help them face the challenges of the modern world. The education and entertainment currently directed at children often rely on simply capturing the child’s attention. There is a need to counterbalance this hyper-stimulation with tools that ensure the healthy development of the whole child.

At Anthropedia we seek to nourish the well-being of children through resources, educational opportunities, parent, and teacher education. Drawing on our Know Yourself DVD series, as well as research on early childhood development and psychological health, our goal is to foster well-being in young children and equip parents with the skills they need to help their children build a strong foundation for a happy and healthy life.
